Song in My Head
After a weekend in Palm Springs, I'm back at it with Internet access and wouldn't you know, I woke up with a new song in my head this morning! It seems as though I'm keeping it in the classic rock genre once again this morning. So, with no further ado, I give you Journey with Only the Young. Enjoy!

Song in My Head
My friends know that I tend to have very wide musical tastes and actually know even more songs than I even enjoy to listen to. Also, most mornings I wake up with a random song in my head. On that note, I figured a solid addition to the severely lacking Looking California, Feeling Minnesota blog would be a quick post of the song that was in my head that morning. Maybe we can help spread more new music around, or even bring back old memories.
Today's song that was in my head as I awoke was Fiona Apple's Sleep to Dream. Check it out.

NBA Fans Need Something to do During Lockout
Hey NBA fans,
I feel your pain. The NHL had a lockout which cancelled the entire 2004-2005 NHL season. The good news for NBA fans is that there is no such labor unrest in the NHL right now! If you need something to fill the void of exciting play and an arena packed with fans, head over to your local NHL arena (many share the same arena as the NBA teams!) and catch a hockey game in person! You'll be hooked on the size, speed and athleticism of the best athletes on the planet. Go check out a hockey game, NBA fans! You won't regret it!
Sincerely,
Topher

Leaving California, Feeling Tallahassee
No, not me. Not anytime soon at least. Instead, the title of this thread relates to Defensive End/Linebacker Glen Stanley. Stanley is a top-15 JUCO recruit who had previously signed a Letter of Intent to enroll and play football at the University of Southern California (SC). Now, however, following the recent sanctions at SC and the fact that he is enrolling as a Junior and would not be able to play in a bowl game at SC, Stanley was released from his Letter of Intent by SC and has decided to enroll at Florida State University. In a quick post to Tomahawk Nation by Bud Elliot, Stanley was quoted as saying, "My heart is at Florida State. I have a great connection with all the coaches." He also added, "It was tough to leave USC because I liked the coaching staff but I want to play for a championship and play in a bowl game."
Can't really blame Stanley for leaving SC. He came in at a tough time and being a JUCO player wouldn't have had the opportunity to play in a bowl game at all. Of course, we here at LCFM are thrilled with his decision to bring his skill to Jimbo Fisher and Florida State. Looking forward to seeing you in Oklahoma, Glen! Go Noles!

Since I started the story on Monday, I figured that now that Part Two of the video of SNY.tv's Ted Berg's interview of Royals pitcher Brian Bannister. Here's the rest of the video in which Bannister breaks down some numbers, interesting stuff.
